Can't remove a MSN contact from pidgin. The contact seems to be removed, but reaperars the next time I start pidgin.

Ubuntu 7.10 with all updates; Pidgin 2.2.1

Pidgin 2.4.3, Win XP Pro

same story, cannot remove a MSN contact, BUT - the contact shows up with Yahoo sign, but hotmail email address in "Friends" group. After I move it to the other group (manually created by me and named MSN), it displays the correct name of that person and stays there. After i delete that very contact from the old "Friends" group, it re-appears again once i sign in and it shows up in both groups...

I'm using 2.5.2 on Windows, and this bug is not reproducible now.

This bug is still reproducible foe me in Intrepid.

I have reproduced this bug both with kopete (kubuntu) and pidgin (ubuntu), could be a protocol-implementation issue. I dont have a kubuntu running anymore, but happy to debug on ubuntu ...

This bug is occuring for me on Intrepid using 2.5.2

If I switch to gyache and delete the contacts in that, the accounts are deleted off the server but show up as soon as pidgin signs back in again. Deleting them (again) in pidgin then gets rid of them permanently.

I'm not sure if this is an implementation bug but it _only_ occurs for Yahoo contacts which are <email address hidden> and those contacts can't be shifted between groups either - if pidgin logs out/in the contacts reappear in the old group (ditto if restarted)

I still have the problem on 9.04.

I have no idea how to reproduce the bug.

I noticed it a couple of years ago, when I couldn't get rid of a contact. Deleting worked, but after restarting Pidgin, the contact would be back again. Now I have four contacts that I can't delete.

When setting an alias and deleting the contact, the contact is restored without the alias.
It might be that the contact is not deleted from the server.

This happens for MSN contacts.

After almost one year, are you intending to ever fix this bug? Do I have to move to another IM client to be able to do everything I need?

I've tried to remove a MSN contact from pidgin for Windows: the problem is the same! So I think is an upstream bug...I'll take a look at the bugs of pidgin to see if someone as just reported this issue upstream!

i guez diz shouldn't be fixed- it's like that you delete a cntct n it stays there, and you somehow build back the lost relationship via the 'Bug'. Social issue.

I believe that this bug is fixed since version 2.5.5 as per http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/FullChangeLog
Need another user's confirmation. I'm using 2.6.6 and it's OK.

I can not understand why there is no possible way to delete a contact, buddy, friend, etc. Come on, you can fix this, Please.
