Transparent PNG files have a black color background

When opening a PNG file with transparent background in gallery-app, the result image has a solid black color background. The problem is worst when trying to display a black and transparent PNG file.

Note that silo 37 contains changes to support transparency for thumbnails. (Previously, any transparency in the source image turned into black for the thumbnail). I'm flagging this because it might affect this issue.
