Workaround: Switch to fullscreen mode once.

@uklotzde are you sure? I am in fullscreen mode all the time and run into this problem.

It's important to do the switch from/to fullscreen at least once. That worked for me, but I will test again.

It looks like the signal of the menu item does not reach the library scanner. Might be caused by this commit:

J Ryan <email address hidden> 2016-01-27 22:22:14
Re-create WMainMenuBar when changing in and out of fullscreen.

As I've written, the fullscreen switch does the trick.

But you need to switch from/to fullscreen manually while Mixxx is already running.

Nope. Fedora 23.

Try starting without fullscreen and then switch to fullscreen by pressing F11. This works for me.

Going into full screen will only work around this on Linux. Yep, this was
caused by me and I'll fix it. Sorry for the trouble!

Never mind ;)

First I was afraid that it was my fault, because I moved some code from the library scanner into the TrackDAO.

I took care of a long term TODO of moving the scanner into the library manager which also fixed this bug.

Setting to confirmed.
http://downloads.mixxx.org/builds/master/release/ master from today includes the fix and library refresh is again working on osx.

Confirmed means the bug is not fixed. Is that what you meant?

Sorry, Launchpad bug system is somewhat odd. Was looking for "verified" but that state does not exist. So consider the fix verified by this comment. In bugzilla Confirmed is "new". All kinds of stuff can be "confirmed" so this is a bit confusing.
