Bug Description

In Gimp, ALT and CTRL+ALT are usually used for actions.
In Inskcape( not installed by default, so less important), ALT is use to select the object under the selected one for example.

In Gnome, Ubuntu 7.10rc, ALT key moves windows so inkscape and gimp ALT actions are disabled, that's a problem. I supposed other applications have same problem.

Same bug in Hardy. I changed "move window shortcut" (Alt -> Super Key) in Compiz but i think that should be done by default

The Super key cannot be used by default by any application as not all keyboards have this key. Window managers have been using Alt at least longer than Inkscape has existed (perhaps GIMP as well) so they should have known this would cause problems. Currently there is no way to fix this bug though.
