Bug Description
In Gimp, ALT and CTRL+ALT are usually used for actions.
In Inskcape( not installed by default, so less important), ALT is use to select the object under the selected one for example.
Other applications could probably be found...
In Gnome, all Ubuntu, with compiz or not, ALT key moves windows so inkscape and gimp ALT actions are disabled, that's a problem.
