Bug Description
1) lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Release: 12.04
2) apt-cache policy libreoffice-calc
libreoffice-calc:
Installed: 1:3.5.2-2ubuntu1
Candidate: 1:3.5.3-0ubuntu1
Version table:
1:
500 http://
*** 1:3.5.2-2ubuntu1 0
500 http://
3) What is expected to happen in Calc via the Terminal:
cd ~/Desktop && wget https:/
is when one highlights the merged cells A1-A5 -> use the mouse to grab the bottom right corner of the cells -> drag it to cell A10, cells A6-10 are merged, and the number increments to 2 in A10. Just as it does in Excel 2010. A screenshot of how it should look in Calc: https:/
4) What happens instead is cells A6-A10 are not merged, and each cell has a number incremented.

Does the new version of openoffice.org 1:2.4.0~rc2 in Ubuntu hardy resolve your problem? I was not completely sure how to do the layout since it appears the ascii formatting screwed up what you were trying to draw.
