Bug Description

Hi there!
2 issues:

1) Noticed the next translation strings need to be bumped for xenial (and one or two don't make sense for wily either!)

i.e. https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/xenial/+source/ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu/+pots/ubiquity-slideshow-kubuntu/en_GB/45/+translate

"Thank you for choosing Kubuntu 15.04. We hope you enjoy the experience."

at the moment, there's only the one string that carries over, so setting that to '15.10' or '16.04' for wily or xenial sets it to that for all ubuntu versions being worked on. Obviously, there should be a unique one for each version.

2) Also related is this issue:
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/xenial/+source/ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu/+pots/ubiquity-slideshow-kubuntu/en_GB/8/+translate

for new strings in xenial, what is "KDE Software Compilation" now, officially? "KDE KF5 Applications" and "KDE Applications Frameworks" have been some suggestions, but that doesn't read well and the new name change needs to make it into the new strings too.

Cheers :)
Anthony

Anthony,

if this doesn't get picked up here in decent time, it may be needed to contact the Kubuntu-Developers via their mailing list:

https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-devel

Beforehand I can confirm, that the naming changed with swift from KDE4 to KDE5.

Constant flow of updates can be seen @ https://www.kde.org/announcements/

Thanks for caring.

Besides it will be interesting how the Noto-Font turns out with RTL and CTK Languages.

Cherio – looks like it works now uniquely & exclusive on Xenial.

The Term "KDE Software Compilation" (in short KDE SC) was abolished with the invention of Plasma5, so just changing it to KDE Applications [2] would suit best.

Muon-Discover is given up in favour of Plasma-Discover [2]

I've made these suggestions now, a few minutes ago, in the English (UK) template for Xenial for approval.

[1] https://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-applications-15.12.0.php
[2] http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=Plasma-Discover&searchon=names&suite=all&section=all

The pictures will have to be provided timely by the Kubuntu-Developers-Team as seen in previous releases.

Best regards &
many thanks for all the hard work that translating means to arrive with us.

Great work all around, as usual :D

Uhoh - well....slight issue...

Xenial is fixed but

https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/wily/+source/ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu/+pots/ubiquity-slideshow-kubuntu/en_GB/45/+translate

the version says 15.04 for both vivid AND wily.

So wily doesn't have its own unique strings yet either (but i guess that's less important, with xenial being an LTS release).
If you could repeat the same process for wily when convenient, I'd appreciate it.
In the meantime, xenial will be the focus of attention ;)

When the ugly mis-programming behaviour occured then in December I could at least leave the option for the correct suggestion (like here):

https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/wily/+source/ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu/+pots/ubiquity-slideshow-kubuntu/it/45/+translate

So once it's up in english, it's up to the translation teams to pick the right choice or just to delete it (what I saw from the french team).

Even though I could change it now for Wily – "someone" would have to revert it later down to Lucid, that what my log tells me now, so I leave that out right now. Thinking it's already messy enough to cover two previous releases though. I' ll run a test on one phrase/one language some time later to see if it got fixed.

Anthony, thanks again for the fast confirmation/assignment in english(UK).

Current status to view (just in case any co-reader catches interest for his/her language):

@ Anthony,

the cause of the clause was identified in bug #1512834 & got fixed. May also fix the desaster beeing created in Vivid/Wily during Xenial translations at least for Kubuntu..

Does this <em>Plasma-Discover</em> need anything more to show up in the above mentioned translations ?
