Bug Description

I'm booting from the ubuntu CD and trying to install. I get the message that it failed to allocate a memory resource and then

/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
(initramfs)

I have a brand new lenovo dual core laptop with XP -- I want to be able to dual boot to either XP or Ubuntu.

Thanks!

I have the same issue. I have a brand new lenovo dual core t61p and I get the same failed to allocate a memory error.

Any ideas?

Well, I tried the safe mode install and it worked fine. I still get the
error, but I'm told it's not really an error by some other Linux folks here.
*grin*

Good luck!

Sorry. I was just starting as a Linux programmer when I submitted that
bug. I have since moved on to Ubuntu 8.04 kernel 2.6.24-19-generic and
don't seem to have the issue anymore...
