Bug Description

A few minutes after booting my Samsung R580 laptop, the Wi-Fi disconnects and it fails to reconnect until I restart the machine. This happens with all the 64 bit versions of Ubuntu I tried, from 14.04 to 15.10. With the 32 bit versions, everything runs perfectly. No loss of connection at all, even after 48 hours in a row.

Here is the output of iwconfig after loss of connexion:

eth7 no wireless extensions.

lo no wireless extensions.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.4 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I don't know how to add a tag. This tag would be "kernel-bug-exists-upstream". And the bug is already marked as "Confirmed".

Since the Samsung bios updater is Windows only, I had to create a partition and install Windows on it to perform the update.

The update did not change anything.

Here is the output of dmidecode -s bios-version and dmidecode -s bios-release-date
