Bug Description

What advantages do we get from running Amazon as a webapp?

Instead provide a desktop icon with Exec=sensible-browser https://www.amazon.com/

and we save significant space on the image by using the already existing browser.

The main advantage is that you can switch back to the Amazon webapp window
if one is already opened.
This is a key advantage for certain webapps, like Gmail. But for more
classic web sites, like Amazon or Ebay, the benefits are debatable.

@dbarth afaict the amazon link is the only reason webapp support is included in the livecd? Could be a good way to save some space since as you mentioned it doesn't make as much sense for Amazon.

Changed in webapps-applications (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed
importance: Undecided → High

I have no idea why a new bug was filed that references this one, but that one is more advanced so I'll dupe this.
