Bug Description

After last gutsy updates, left-clicking the clock applet panel hangs the panel. Gnome shortcut keys (Alt+F2) also stop working.
Right-clicking is working, though, so I could find out that the clock is set to manual, not checking NTP servers. If I can supply more input, please tell me how.

Solved with last kernel update, thank you very much :)

The very same thing is happening to me in Hardy. I clicked on the clock applet and gnome-panel is freezed now. Left clicking on "applications/places/system", quick launch icons or the tasks manager at the bottom doesn't work. Right clicking works sometimes. The clock applet remained like it's pressed down. No 100% CPU.

krychek, do you have a Google Calendar configured in your Evolution?

No, I don't use evolution at all. I even uninstalled it before I upgraded to Hardy cuz I needed more diskspace. Hardy reinstalled it I guess.

And this bug doesn't happen always. Sometimes I keep clicking on the clock and everything is fine. I like the new features of it :)

krychek, I expect your issue is a different one; this one only seemed to affect Yotam, and only for a day. (Plus, there's not much to go on as far as associating his issue with anyone else's.) There are a few other bugs reported about the clock applet elsewhere; maybe one of them is more like what you're noticing?

I can't find any other bug that is similar to this one. "Left-clicking clock applet hangs gnome-panel" is exactly what happens to me. I have compiz and nvidia driver installed with envyng. Maybe this has something to do with the problem?

Bug #191497 and bug #194505 are the ones I have already seen, bug #87796 is
an older one I could find. Ultimately, this is kind of a generic report, so
it'll likely be hard to track down.

OK, let's see if this stuff will remain in Hardy final or if it will occur on my laptop too.

Is this the same as bug #203527 perhaps?

This bug has so little information and isn't reproducible in any one way (at least based on the reporter's description, which mentions Gutsy not Hardy like bug 203527) that I don't think it's worth making the master bug, even though it's older. There seem to be a few issues going on, and the Google Calendar one is already reported in bug 194505, and the other report was bug 191497.
Remarking as Invalid and removing upstream report. The other bugs still open cover all the cases and upstream bugs we already have.
