Note: I have seen this before and I believe I resolved this by uninstalling check box and then re-installing it.

Hi eunix,

if I understand correctly, you originally installed Ubuntu 11.10 on your computer, then installed checkbox and later upgraded your computer to Ubuntu 14.04?

checkbox-gtk is a package that is not maintained anymore. For the time being, we provide a textual ui (checkbox-cli), and we are working on a new release of checkbox that will work on different platforms (checkbox-converged).

In your description you mentioned that you uninstalled, then re-installed checkbox and that fixed the issue. Can you use checkbox now?

On trusty you can safely remove checkbox-gtk. The new version of system testing is called checkbox-gui which automatically replaces checkbox-qt (but not the older checkbox-gtk) during the upgrade process.

Pierre,
Thanks for the response.
I had encounterd the checkbox issue previously on one of my other
computers.
Once I removed the package and updated (on other machines), I was OK.

I just read up on the package.
