Anders Hall, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-x250 an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (1.17). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything?

If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette .

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible, and the information above is provided, then please mark this report Status Confirmed. Otherwise, please mark this as Invalid.

Thank you for your understanding.

I will try Christopher. However, I got the impression this this issue was related to many different computers. Any common factor on those computers related to this issue?

I have this problem too, on my HP 15-AF014AU notebook, running 15.04.

My wifi card is a Realtek RTL8723BE, and that seems to be a common feature in the problem.

I added a /etc/modprobe.d/rtl8723be.conf file containing
"options rtl8723be fwlps=0", then restarted. That seems to have stopped the periodic
dropping out, but I still need to do the hidden-network connect when coming
out of suspend.

Issue is still there in 15.10 64-bit, although it is harder to track (Takes longer to appear, it is random)

Here is some information related to it

02:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM43142 802.11b/g/n [14e4:4365] (rev 01)

Lenovo IdeaPad Z510

In the following image: http://imgur.com/a/IOd36

When it drops, it gives the issue shown in the dmesg output. when I try to reconnect to it, the GUI error box appears (shown in the first image).

There are 2 images with a bit more information.

Note: still planning to do the bios update requested. Use this computer for work first and foremost and is careful. However, if more users report this (as proven https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/266033) we can perhaps assume it is a more general problem and find another way to debug it? :-)
