I have tried to install ubuntu onto a gpt disk without sucess, I will keep trying but the installer keeps crashing.

It looks like your hard drive was unplugged. Check your SATA cable.

I appreciate your efforts but the hdd is fine I installed windows for now with no problems  I will try again in a few weeks. yours sincerely Garry
