Meliae is no longer maintained

Can we start a discussion about transferring ownership to an active maintainer?

Maybe a better strategy is to just fork to Github under a different name and open a window to merge changes back here?

Not sure what the current status of this project is, but I would also love to see meliae active.

I really miss having this package on Python 3.

Sorry I missed the original thread, I often get a bit buried under bug
emails from various projects. I'm no longer personally actively developing
in python, so it isn't something I've kept up with. I'm happy to support
moving this over to someone who wants to actively develop it.
