Bug Description

Hello

I created a "petit pois" pattern that is simply ignored when printing or exporting to PFD. Exporting to PNG works.

I'm using inkscape-trunk on ubuntu15.04 fully updated.

Attached an example file. rsvg-convert exports it correcly.

Win32 devlibs use cairo 1.11.2.

On OS X 10.7.5 (64bit)
- reproduced with Inkscape 0.91 r13725, 0.91+devel r14319
(trunk tested with cairo 1.12.2 and cairo 1.14.2)

Using older releases which ship with older packages of cairo:
- nor reproduced with Inkscape 0.48.2 32bit (i386): cairo 1.10.2
- reproduced with Inkscape 0.48.2 64bit (x86_64): cairo 1.12.2
- reproduced with Inkscape 0.48.5 32bit (i386): cairo 1.12.16

Alvin,

I tested multiple PDF settings without changes in result. As pointed by
others, it is a UNIX related problem. I'll try to find a win machine to
export my file.

Currently, as a bad workaround, I'm applying a innocuous effect on the
pattern in order to force rasterization on it when exporting to PDF.

Regards,

Not really - AFAICT it varies depending on the cairo version used by Inkscape (which may differ on different Linux distros too). Likely this problem also reproduces with the 64bit packages of Inkscape for Windows (since it also includes a newer version of cairo: 1.14.1) - if you plan to resort to Windows to work around this issue, be sure to use 32bit installer package for Inkscape.

My cairo version is 1.13.0~20140204-0ubuntu1.1, and I get a fully pink border without any dots on pdf export (LM 17.2, 64bit, Inkscape 0.91).

Can't reproduce this issue with Inkscape 1.0alpha (b1f1f5d, 2019-03-22) and cairo 1.16.0 when viewing in Evince.

However, for some reason the dots will disappear in Okular below a certain zoom size. As I'm assuming this is an Okular issue, closing as no longer valid.
