Bug Description

I'm not exactly sure if nvidia-glx or the kernel module is to blame, however
since upgrading to 1.0.7167 my system freeze (it's not the whole system but only
keyboard, mouse and X11. Music is still played) randomly, expect that it crashes
-every time- when I try to do something in galeon. So to reproduce:
1. use nvidia drivers :) (I have NoLogo 1 and RenderAccel, however the freeze
occurs also if RenderAccel is disabled)
2. normal login - bla bla bla, start a media player and play some music to see
that it will keep playing
3. start galeon and surf a bit, after a few seconds the system should freeze.

I don't think my hardware is important because I have not encountered this crash
with the old driver version, however if you need anything, feel free to ask.

This also happens with 1.0.7174.

same problem with nvidia-glx 1.0.7167-0ubuntu25
but freeze directly after login, just before kde splash screen.

The hardware is important for everyone, yeah.

Is there some way to use hwdb to create a summary, I've used it once and it
created a file for me to send via e-mail, now it sends the file to the server
itself. is there any option to get a file output?

Oliver said that he planned to add such an option to hwdb-gui. In the meantime,
you can use "hwdb-xml -a"

if you only want xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log (which should be the most common case
for X probs) you can use
hwdb-xml -x > hwdb.out and send this file... during the next two weeks the
server will be ready enough to just attach the id from ~/.hwdb or the server url
the client points you to to a bug and with this it will be possible to look up
the data from the server.

hmm, did you disable your swap partition intentionally ?

yes, I have 768MBytes of ram so I don't think it is really needed. (as the
normal ram usage is about 230MB) I had problems in the past when I only had
512MB, with planescape, the swapd would use up 99% cpu usage (and some disc
usage iirc), so it looks very different than a freeze
