Bug Description

I can rate installed apps in the dash just fine. But when I try to review an installed app from the store itself, it appears to let me do it, but the review never shows up.

current build number: 22
device name: mako
channel: ubuntu-touch/stable/ubuntu
last update: 2015-07-28 09:09:39
version version: 22
version ubuntu: 20150727.1
version device: 20150210
version custom: 20150713

The problem is with submitting new reviews? Or you have this problem only with editing reviews?

Also, when you say "in the dash," do you mean from the Apps scope, as opposed to the Store scope? Both of these scopes use the exact same code to build the previews, so it would be quite odd to have it working fine in one, but not the other.

The problem is submitting new reviews (haven't tried comparing attempts to edit reviews in both yet).

It works from the Apps scope, but not the Store scope.

Are there any errors logged in ~/.cache/upstart/scope-registry.log when this issue occurs? Are you able to reliably recreate this? If so, can you reliably recreate this issue on the latest rc-proposed image as well?

Yes, this is in ~/.cache/upstart/scope-registry.log after trying to create a new review in the Store scope:

> 2015-08-17 10:51:35,598 - WARNING - Failed to update review: "stoul" review widget: ""

Updating reviews works the same way as writing new reviews (updating review works in App scope, updating gives the above message in Store scope).

This is 100% reproducable for me. I will try rc-proposed.

version version: 90

New twist. I'm assuming this is related to this issue?

I made a review edit in the App scope that was seemingly accepted -- I saw the changes locally on my phone.

But looking at uappexplorer a day later, the review change is still not reflected on the ratings server. So there's a disconnect between my local data and the server data.

But a new review shows up on uappexplorer. Just not the review edit.

Again, this is all from the App scope. The Store scope continues to give me no love.

(and maybe that's just uappexplorer being slow to update)

Anything with uappexplorer, I can't really answer. I've never even looked at the code for that site, and we don't own it.

I have found the issue with the store scope though, and will have a fix for it ready for QA to hopefully land in vivid overlay before the freeze.

Hrm, yeah. I think it's just uappexplorer not updating correctly. reviews.ubuntu.com/click/api/1.0/review-stats has the right data.

Thanks for fixing this!
