Bug Description

It seems like the wifi disconnects every few minutes. Disabling network, enabling it causes all networks to disappear. Then "connect to hidden network" will show the dropped network , and reconnect is made possible again. This has been reported as a question on Launchpad: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/266033

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.2 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

I have this problem too, on my HP 15-AF014AU notebook. I installed 14.04 a couple of days ago, and noticed the WiFi dropping out. I moved to 14.10, which seemed to fix it, but after a few hours it dropped out there too. I'm now on 15.04, and the problem persists.

The dropout is an absolute pain. I'll see how it goes with the hidden-network trip, but if it's unusable I may have to look for a different distro. Probably Debian has same problem.

Can confirm this on two Lenovo x250 computers as well. Dropout occurs often, disabling/enabling network (with keyboard/hardware switch) works most often. Sometimes reboot is required. Occurs on hidden and non-hidden wireless networks.

I'm travelling in Japan at the moment. I'll report it as a bug when I
return in about 10 days.
