Kernels above 3.16.33 have problem with Intel 9C60 controller

Bug Description

Kernels above 3.16.33 have problem with Intel 9C60 controller. It look s like some pci/dma controller problem. System hangs durting startup. So, it is not possible to use 14.04.2 release on Intel BayTrail platforms.

I confirm that kernels above 3.16.33 have not support for xhci usb 3.0 support. Temporarily it is possible to avoidproblem by diasabling xhciI support in BIOS

ENTF71BM laptop uses Elantech 0501 touch pad so commonly known problem with kernels above 3.13 is know in the internet.

How to use linux today ???? Problem with touch pad, problem with startup ....

Hi there,

I would like to report that the latest kernel (utopic) 3.16.0-45-generic works well with elantech 0501 touch pad used in the Packard Bell EN TF71BM.

3.16.0-33-genericand earlier 3.16.xx had problems with multitouch and right click

with 3.160-33 and 3.16.0-45

In the bios there are two setting for touch pad: advanced and basic

Now (3.16.00-45) touchpad works well in advanced mode but when I set basic mode in bios system hangs at start.

In the other hand there is huge progress because I can work in advanced mode

At the moment I use clean Debian Jessie (stable) on Intel Bay Trail platform (N2830)
without any problem. Everything is okay.

I had to switch in the BIOS touchpad into basic mode. There is no problems with xhci and 9C60
My current kernel is Debian 3.16.7-ckt11-1+deb8u3 (2015-08-04) x86_64 GNU/Linux

I have found that Packard Bell EN TF71BM is direct clone of Acer ES1-511. Both ones use the same BIOS.
