It is trying to open an external appication which doesn't exist in the pdk. I will investigate further.

Is it possible to disable the button as a workaround for release?

Carl, I tried to download a pdf as you suggested, but it still can not be opened from the download dialog box by clicking the "open" link. I also tried to save an html page, and it cannot work either.

The issue still exists on 12/19 image. Both mp3 and pdf file can not be opened.

Jimmy will also add code to keep the files in the appropriate folders. All media files will go to $HOME/medai/[audio|photo|viedo] and others go to $HOME/Documents.

Jimmy, another issue relates with this is that if the file is deleted, the item will still show in the download dialog box, but there will be no response if I click the Open button.

This bug is due to in the build target's /usr/share/applications directory, it is missing the defaults.list file that handles the file:open for various registered file types. Firefox will first open the downloaded file using the system's application handler to open the file (same as double-clicking on a file on you Desktop in Ubuntu). If no appropriate application handlers are found, then it will popup a dialog box for the user to pick which applications to open with. So the fix for it will be to provide a defaults.list file in the created target. I also needed to create a moblin-media.desktop file that specifies the url to the moblinplayer-client script that plays the media files through DBUS interface. We do have a desktop file for the moblin-media-music, photo and video, but those won't work as it just brings up the Moblin player, but doesn't play the file.

I am attaching the defaults.list and moblin-media.desktop file I used to testing, there could be some mimetypes supported by Moblin player that I didn't include, so it may not work for all the files.

Hi Jimmy,
I verified that your fix works! But why not check in them into the repository and make them available in images we created? I think it's not resonable for users to create these files themselves. Thanks.

Fan,

I told Carl what needs to be fixed and he's working with Bob and Rusty, because there' a Ubuntu package that creates the default.list file, that it needs to be auto-generated, not hard-coded. That's why I can't check the fix in myself, Carl will be updating this bug status, but it will be fixed for this release.
