Bug Description

1) Description: Ubuntu 15.04
Release: 15.04
3) Since my internal sound card is not working any longer, I am using a Storite external USB soundcard. It was working perfectly well with Windows, but is giving me problems in Ubuntu 15.04.
4) The USB device is shown in lsusb but the same is not available in sound preferences. I am unable to get sound output into my headphone.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.1 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

This wasn't a bug. I had a bad alsa-base.conf file which was the source of this problem. Many Thanks for your support. I have audio output in my headphones via external soundcard now :-)
