Bug Description

V 3.4.1
Using with :
Ubuntu 15.04
openGL
Video: Radeon HD6310
Driver: 14.201.1006.1002-140902a-175601C-ATI
Problems:
When autohide enabled, the dock either will not appear, or half (1 side, or top or bottom) appears or flickers appearing and disappearing quickly.
If the dock does appear it sometimes will not auto-hide.
The dock can only really be used reliably by minimising all windows.
When all windows are minimised the dock responds, but animations do not work.
There are lots of other small problems, eg, if the time is clicked the calandar appears, but clicking it again does not make it go away.

Hello and thank you for this bug report!

Is it better if you don't use the OpenGL backend?

   $ cairo-dock -c
   or: $ cairo-dock -A

What's your Window Manager? Metacity/Marco? Is it better with:

   $ cairo-dock -W

Hi Matthieu,
I log in using "select desktop environment" and pick Cairo-dock, does this
mean it is window manager? (Sorry I don't know so much:) )

I tried cairo-dock -c, it seemed better but looked like I have 2 docks, so
I quit out of both and ran cairo-dock -c again.
This seems to work perfectly:)

If I run cairo-dock -a, it seems to have same problems as default.

Is there someway I can default to cairo-dock -c at log on?

regards,
Ian

If you select this session, I guess your window manager is Compiz.

It seems this bug is due to a regression of your video driver... Which one are you using? Proprietary one? (fglrx)

  $ glxinfo | grep OpenGL

Yes, simply launch the dock with this command, check the box to remember your choice and select "No". Next time, the dock will be launched without OpenGL backend ;-)

   $ cairo-dock -A

I cannot see any check box to remember my choice

You should see a box on the bottom of the dialogue shown when launching this command:

    $ cairo-dock -A

Or you can also modify config files with this command:

    $ sed -e '/default backend/c\default backend=cairo' ~/.config/cairo-dock/.cairo-dock

(then relaunch the dock)
