Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

When starting compiz (including on system startup), as well as when enabling some plugins in CompizConfigSettingsManager (also known as advanced desktop effects settings), the panels at the top and bottom of the screen vanish and I must rotate the desktop cube by at least one face or run "killall gnome-panel" to bring them back. This is running compiz 0.5.3, fully updated as of 9/25/2007.

After bootup, gnome panels are invisible. They can be activated by clicking on a desktop folder.

I can confirm this. I believe its a compiz problem because its started happening to me when installing compiz-fusion on feisty. Still happening after a Gutsy upgrade. Have to do a "killall gnome-panel" everytime i restart my computer...
