Binary package hint: compiz
When enabling certain plugins in CompizConfigSettingsManager (also known as advanced desktop effects settings), the panels at the top and bottom of the screen vanish and I must rotate the desktop cube by at least one face or run "killall gnome-panel" to bring them back. This does not seem to be restricted to a specific plugin - I have observed it enabling many plugins, including glib, and inotify. Other times the panel will vanish for a second, then return on its own, so perhaps the above is caused by something interrupting the normal reloading of the panel. This is running compiz 0.5.3, fully updated as of 9/25/2007. |
