books not showing up on kobo touch

Bug Description
I add books through calibre like I have for years and all of a sudden nothing new is showing up. When I check through windows the books are there but they are not showing up on the kobo screen

Please include with all bug reports, where they're relevant:
- Your calibre version
- If you aren't on the latest calibre, can you replicate this with the latest calibre version?
- If you aren't able to update to the latest calibre version, why not?
- The plugin name and version (found on the list of installed plugins) (because there's two plugins covered by this project)
- A sample book, both the source ePub and the generated KePub, demonstrating the problem
