Bug Description

Building simple-scan 3.16.0 and running make install puts the translations in a wrong location:

[ 142s] simple-scan-lang-3.16.0-85.1.noarch.rpm: directories not owned by a package:
[ 142s] - /usr/@DATADIRNAME@
[ 142s] - /usr/@DATADIRNAME@/locale

the variable DATADIRNAME is being set to @DATADIRNAME@ in po/Makefile.in.in, but there is nowhere where @DATADIRNAME@ is being defined....

Looks like autotools got confused. I rebuilt from a clean tree and it seem to have created a better po/Makefile.in.in.

status: New → Fix Released
milestone: none → 3.16.0.1

How reproducible:
Always

Seems to also affect the 3.14.3 tarball, based on a Fedora bugreport. Is there any chance of a new 3.14 release, or should I apply a patch in Fedora?

Thanks for the report. I have requested a new tarball upstream (as a similar bug occured with the 3.16.0 release) and should hear back soon.

Yes, it looks like the update fixes the problem as the files are now in the correct location.

Sorry for the question,
Should I just remove the folder and reinstall the package?
Which versions are not affected?

Thanks a lot!

This is fixed in simple-scan 3.16.0.1 and 3.14.3.1.

If you had a bad version installed (3.16.0 or 3.14.3) just install an updated package. If you manually installed the files, yes, you can remove usr/@DATADIRNAME@.
