Bug Description

As requested, filed as a separate bug from bug 1425199:

When trying to start the unity8 lxc session, it fails to start.

The user is presented with the lightdm login window afterwards, which does not accept password input or clicking on the login button.

Attaching the requested log files. The log files ~/.cache/upstart/unity8.* have not recently been changed, so I am not attaching those.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for reporting this bug.

I *think* this is the same as bug #1420468.

To confirm this, could you please do the following?

1. Run 'sudo lxc-start -n unity8-lxc --o fail.log --l DEBUG'
2. Either attach fail.log to this bug or look in it and see if you find the following lines:
lxc_cgmanager - cgmanager.c:cgm_bind_dir:1338 - /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/lxc/sys/fs/cgroup does not exist
lxc_conf - conf.c:lxc_mount_auto_mounts:840 - No such file or directory - error mounting /sys/fs/cgroup

Thanks!

Hi Team Ubuntu,
I am still getting the same problem in my system, running 15.04 - Vivid Vervet. When I run the command for the log file, it is not generating, but showing alternate options for this command. I am also posting a pic of the message. I have tried installing it once again, but still the same issue persists as told above.

Regards

I have this issue on 16.04. I noticed during unity8-lxc-setup this error message was shown:
dpkg: error processing package ubuntu-desktop-next
