OpenShot Video Editor crashes on adding file

 installed OpenShot Video Editor through USC. Also added PPA as per the instruction from developer's site.
When I add any file to it, the window of the software totally crashes and disappear from the monitor.
Why it happens ? My operating system is Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and the OSVE is v 1.4.3-1.1
How could it be brought to working?
If you need some output, please let me know the command so that its output could be sent to you. I am nit a technical person for computer, so give me instruction in detail and in simple form of instruction

which format video are you adding ? mp4 ? mp3 ?aac ?
Perhpas you are not using the true version of ffmpeg. So you should follow
