Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

As of 5:55pm pacific September 17 with the latest updates Gterminal not working. It appears as though the font is just amazingly small. Attempts to zoom in have not had any success. If i try to type i can see hat appears to be a pixel moving across the screen, which im assuming is the curser.

Im working on the new dell xps m1330 if that helps with anything.

thanks
nick

This looks like a duplicate of bug #140540. I'm seeing the same problems on my box (integrated nvidia 6100).

I have this problem too. The text can be copied & pasted, it's just too small to be visible.
Started with gnome-terminal 2.18.1-1ubuntu2.
xterm works fine, and other fonts in most other apps are fine. amsn has an error that pops up with invisible text too (the error started before, when I first upgraded to gutsy).

Me too. The fonts are so small that I can only see a tiny part of the cursor, probably only 2 or 3 pixels, blinking and moving, and nothing else. The Gnome terminal window starts up very small as well, only 279x118 pixels in size.

The problem is gtk2 updates change the default font-rendering size to 50

To correct it, use this command by doing Alt+F2 (or a terminal if you can see to type) and

$ gconftool --type float --set /desktop/gnome/font_rendering/dpi 96

Thank you Tj, this indeed worked for me
Would have been a nightmare as I do about 90% of my work in a terminal hehe
