Bug Description

All the scopes that are from the Ubuntu Store are missing in my scope list even those that are my favorites.
Searching in the Manage Dash does not solve the issue unlike before. The only way to show them is to reinstall or update to a new version if there's available. However, restarting Unity8/device remove them again from the list.

I'm using image # 134 from the 14.09 RTM channel on a Nexus 7 2013.

Kugi, could you please call "ls ~/.local/share/unity-scopes" via adb shell. Do you see a dangling symlink in that list (an item in red)? I had one for "com.ubuntu.developer.psasse.sbbscope_sbbscope_0.8".

Looks like the registry totally freaks out and ignores all installed scopes if there is even one dangling symlink in the scope install directory.

This is at least what I can reproduce. Could you please confirm that this is the case for you too.

Next, if you run "sudo click unregister com.ubuntu.developer.psasse.sbbscope" (considering you have the same dangling symlink I had), then restart the phone, do you get all your scopes back?

All my scopes are back! Kinda weird that a single scope broke the whole scope functionality. Is this a valid bug now or should be passed to the developer of SBB scope?Well I think this is still valid because this is not suppose to happen just because of faulty scope. Thanks for the solution BTW :D

Sure, it is definitely a valid bug, in fact this is actually a duplicate of another bug whose fix is already in the pipelines.

Thanks for confirming the cause for me.
