Thank you for reporting this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

It looks to me like the dlm binary package has never worked, and that dlm is being built perhaps just for clvm, which uses libdlm3. Perhaps the dlm binary package should be removed if there are no plans to make it work?

summary: - package dlm 4.0.1-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: il sottoprocesso
- installato script di post-installation ha restituito lo stato di errore
- 1
+ The dlm package is not installable
Changed in dlm (Ubuntu):
status: New → Triaged
importance: Undecided → High

There are already some other bug reports addressing this issue (not listed in the Duplicates of this bug section) with patches / fixes.

As stated before in the duplicated bug:
It's kinda sick this made it into a LTS....
And it is also kinda sick that no patch is provided in over a half year...

It make me sick, that no maintainer has time to fix this simple bug. Please use the new init script provided in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dlm/+bug/1248054

Matthew,

Yeah I agree this is a duplicate of the bug. Since I had pitched up an SRU
proposal for this, what's the best course of action. The duplicated bug has
multiple patches attached to it but nothing's been done. I'm happy with
either:

a) migrating the attached patches that I applied for lp 1394237 over to
this bug and fill out the SRU template
b) taking the attached patches which were already attached to lp 1248054
and proposing an SRU based on this

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
- Billy
