Commentary had started in bug #1386324, but this should be a public bug. All of the logs/comments can be cross posted if that is necessary - there's nothing confidential there.

Based on some discussion....seems this may be related to
bug 1382595

there was a media-hub landing on friday which fixed "2nd play of video capability" which in theory would mean more chances for hitting dead objects on the bus

And b/c this bug has the same signature expected / seen in bug 1382595 based on feedback from ogra ( https://errors.ubuntu.com/oops/3f6b473c-5e83-11e4-a8bb-fa163e373683 )

The branches for those are currently in silo ubuntu-rtm/landing-013, as soon as there's packages available it would be good to help test and see if this makes the problem disappear

regarding media-hub landing on friday, that was when image #126 was produced and the various testers began to witness unity8 crashing "frequently"

so the root cause of the media-hub issues is thot to be that notifications is a client of media hub (so lots of create/destroy) which in turn leaves dead objs on dbus which results in the mutex lock signature seen in comment #4.
There is a fix for this, branches linked.
It is currently attempting to land in rtm silo 13

I've just been testing silo 13 - it makes the crashes go away but after enabling flight mode I can't disable it. The fix might need a bit of tweaking.

Confirmed by QA that silo13 fixes the crashiness
