The openoffice binary appears to have gone missing, though
synaptic shows it there (openoffice.
installed in synaptic; reinstall did not help --
% openoffice
The program 'openoffice' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
apt-get install openoffice.
Trying that from the command line (as root):
# apt-get install openoffice.

ls -l /usr/bin/open*
ls -l /usr/bin/oo*
sudo apt-get install --reinstall openoffice.
