Bug Description

0 ad doesn't start due to not been able to find pyrogenesis (which seems to be a library):

/usr/games/0ad
Error: pyrogenesis not found in (/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin)

Launching from the /usr/games directory didn't work.

Creating a symlink hacks, so it starts.

Maybe the root cause is that /usr/games is not part of the PATH.

Yes, the /usr/games/0ad wrapper script depends on the pyrogenesis binary being installed somewhere in $PATH (in the Debian/Ubuntu packages it's installed as /usr/games/pyrogenesis); /usr/games is by default included in non-root users' $PATH.

Will be fixed in 0ad/0.0.17-1.

That's odd, my $PATH variable doesn't has /usr/games in it.

echo $PATH
/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin

Could you please tell me which package is in charge of setting this variable?, could it be because my installation CD was Kubuntu 14.10 Tech Preview (KDE 5)?. Maybe this is a bug in some other package.

Check /etc/profile to make sure that PATH is set properly, and /etc/environment to make sure that nothing there is overwriting it. And check your user's shell configuration (e.g. ~/.bashrc) to make sure that you're not overwriting it for yourself.
