stuttering through the track

when i press play most tracks stutter through the track rather than running smoothly

I'm running ver.1.11 on a macbook 10.9.5

intel processor 2GHz core 2 duo

no outboard gear just running it on the mac

it has worked in the past, this is a new problem.

Could you try a development build:
http://downloads.mixxx.org/builds/master/
git4650 or newer

and confirm you still have the issue?

Also, check your latency settings in Preferences -> Sound Hardware. It could be your latency is set too low for your CPU. Though I achieve 2 and 5ms latency on my MBP running 10.9 regularly.
