Is it going to be fixed in Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty)?

@negora, we could. Is that an issue you often run into? What do you do exactly to trigger it?

Hello Sebastien:

The circumstances under which it happens are very similar to the ones described in the first message of this bug report. I've made a fresh install of Xubuntu 14.04 in VirtualBox, installed Shotwell, downloaded a random image from the Internet, tried to rotate it and then the application has got frozen and crashed finally. For my tests I've used the image located here: http://www.freegreatpicture.com/files/26/15992-grass-material.jpg .

Really it happens with every of the images that I've in my computer, no matter if they're of type JPEG or PNG. I've used that one only so that you can test it too. Right now I've installed Shotwell in my production Kubuntu 14.04 (a physical machine) and the error happens too.

Thank you!

Seb, if you're interested in backporting this to Trusty, the change is quite small and contained only to Shotwell in direct-viewer mode:

Chris J Arges (arges) wrote : Please test proposed package

Hello Adam, or anyone else affected,

Accepted shotwell into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/0.18.0-0ubuntu4.3 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance!
