Bug Description

Hi,
Pinta 1.5 on Windows 7.

1. Open two images (or create two new images). So now two images are opened.
2. Make sure all options in View | Toolbars are checked.
3. On each of window (Tools, Palette, Layers, Images and History) click on Auto Hide icon (you know like minimize icon in top right of the tool) to
hide windows. So now all of the tools are collapsed.
4. Click on Tools window and click on Rectangle Select (or any other icon).
5. Move mouse to canvas (don't click) and what happens is Tools window gets auto hidden. The same is for Palette. This is expected auto hide window
behavior.
6. Now click on Images window (because of step 1 there should be two images opened), but do NOT click any further like on second image in Images window.
7. Move mouse to canvas (don't click) and there is still auto hide. The same for Layers and History window. This is OK.
8. Click on Images window and now click to select second image.
9. Move mouse to canvas. Now a problem appears. I expect Images window to be auto hidden, but it is not, it just stays in semi docket state. The same
problem for Layers and History window. So the problem (bug) is that Images, Layers and History windows do not auto hide. And of course the problem is
also that canvas is partially hidden on position when window appears, so all canvas is not seen anymore.

Work-around:
a) Click on Dock icon (top-right icon in window) to dock a window.
b) Click on Auto Hide icon.

This problem is specially annoying when working on small screens when I need as much of the canvas on my screen as possible.

I know this is not a big bug, but it makes me crazy repeating the same tasks all over and over and over and you know what ... to auto hide window. It would save a lot of my time and nerves to fix this problem.

P.S. It looks like this bug was already reported in bug 602660 and fixed in Pinta 0.5, but now in Pinta 1.5 it still exists - I am sure this is not 1.5 specific problem, but now it annoys me more and more.
Thanks

I tested little bit more. It looks this problem does not appear in Layers window, but it does appear in Images (most annoying) and in History (I don't use this window so often).

I have checked the code fix in bug 602660 at https://github.com/jpobst/Pinta/commit/2d8f375c3ff44fbf6d3cb58f4b245185ca3951f9 and it looks like only one parameter to change from true to false so it is probably very easy to fix this problem.

Pinta development 1.6.0.81 on Ubuntu 14.04. I can confirm bug was fixed. Excellent.

One of the most important fixes in Pinta for years on my small laptop screen. One of the main reasons I switched from Paint.net to Pinta years ago (then using Windows on this laptop) because I could hide toolbars quickly. But now autohide working as designed is pure pleasure to work with Pinta. Sometimes small bugs fixes can make a huge difference to end-user, so that is why fixing bugs is very important task. Thanks a lot Cameron, you rock.
