That error indicates that your calibre library is mos likely in a
location that windows cannot handle. Try moving the calibre library
folder to a simple path like c:\library

Kovid,
I have 5 separate Calibre Dbs with a total of 13,000 books.
All five have had books removed without error.
Only the one book has given the error.

Then there is some file in that folder that windows is unable to open.
Delete the folder manually using windows explorer before deleting
the book in calibre. You can select the book in calibre and press O to
open its folder.
