[webapp-container] short url patterns are considered invalid

URL patterns without a subdomain are considered invalid.

Testcase: http?://ubuntu.com/*

E.g.

Install untappd app from the store.
Open untapped app
Click "sign in" link.

Note that the url to sign in is https://untappd.com/login which should be covered by the pattern I am using "--webappUrlPatterns=https?://*.untappd.com/*,https?://untappd.com/* " but isn't. It breaks out into a new web browser instance.
