Bug Description
The default login screen in Ubuntu has an indicator in order to change the keyboard layout, but it does not work.
No matter what option I choose or what keyboard layouts I add to my user account, lightdm uses always the one set in /etc/default/

I can confirm this problem and it amplifies https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/lightdm/ +bug/1051288 . You not only cannot enter your password in your desired layout but the chooser implies that you might. But when it seems to change the layout it actually does nothing. It's also rather hard to notice this because the password field only shows asterisks.
