Bug Description

The trackpoint found on Lenovo/IBM laptops has a special scroll feature that works in most applications except Inkscape. I think it sends arrow keystrokes to the window, but I don't know for sure.

Current behavior:
When you scroll using the trackpoint, nothing happens.

Expected behavior:
The view should pan around.

Probably related to: bug 500456

Some HIG-compliant mice have a scroll wheel that bends to pan left and right. The TrackPoint on ThinkPad machines is the same idea.

Using the TrackPoint scroll mechanism under Linux (Kubuntu 14.04) has no issues on my ThinkPad. Therefore, this is likely a Windows-only issue.

(A similar issue is that under Windows 8 with a touchscreen monitor, you cannot drag across a GtkScrolledWindow to scroll it, unlike in every other application. The same thing works fine under Linux.
