[gutsy] Missing icons after installing gsynaptics

Binary package hint: gsynaptics

I just installed the gsynaptics package and restarted X after enabling SHMConfig. Unfortunately, the "Touchpad" menu entry in System/Preferences has no icon. Also, I'm not sure if there's supposed to be a notification area icon or not, but if there is, it's displaying as a 1-2 pxl wide black and orange icon in the notification area.

I can confirm that the icon inside System/Preferences is missing.

Confirmed here, too. The icon-file (/usr/share/pixmaps/touchpad.png, /usr/share/app-install/icons/touchpad.png) is corrupt. I'm of the opinion that the problem is located there.

I found the right icon (http://cvs.sourceforge.jp/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/gsynaptics/gsynaptics/data/touchpad.png?rev=1.2&view=markup) now I'm trying to make a fix

Just confirming the icon is still broken on the final release of 7.10.

What is the reason for doing this:

++appicon_DATA = touchpad.xpm

Couldn't we just use the .png file for the icon?

You added dpatch support, so it should be documented in your changelog entry. Also, consider using a single patch, since changes to Makefile.in, Makefile.am and touchpad.xpm are related.

Thanks for the patch. Looking really close, but a dpatch should have a description listed, so it can be be shared in isolation to resolve this issue if it appears in other distributions. Please resubscribe ubuntu-universe-sponsors (and set status) with the updated patch.
