Hari. Below is the info I gathered, can you have someone investigate and find the right fix

we had core_pattern as
root@a5s8:~# sysctl -a | grep core_patt
kernel.core_pattern = /var/crashes/core.%e.%p.%h.%t

but now it shows up as
@a5s10:~# sysctl -a | grep core_pattern
kernel.core_pattern = |/usr/share/apport/apport %p %s %c

because of this cores don't seem to be generated

apport seems to be over-writing the core_pattern
apport package is getting installed because of linux-crashdump, which is
put as requirement of contrail-openstack-vrouter sometime back..
