Bug Description

Problem description:
I was trying to print a small compliments slip on a card that was 140mm x 100mm.

I set the page size under Format -> Page -> Size to user defined, and then entered the width of 14.00cm and height of 10.00cm correctly.

However, when I came to try to print it, it would not print correctly. The print dialog box showed the dimensions of A6 (140mm x 105mm) and I couldn't find any way to change this. I tried to print it anyway, but it came out wrong.

To prove that the problem is in LibreOffice and probably not related to the driver, I exported the file to a PDF, and was able to print it by setting up a Custom Paper size in the printer settings dialog - an option which LibreOffice doesn't seem to have.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new Document
2. From the menu, do Format -> Page
3. From the Format dropdown, select User
4. Enter a size that is not a standard paper size
5. Click OK
6. Attempt to print the document

Current behavior:
No matter what combinations of options I tried, I was unable to change the Printer paper size to the correct size.
If I go ahead and click Print, the output is wrong (output not aligned correctly on the page).

Expected behavior:
Paper size could be set by the selected Page size, or provide some way to change the printer paper size.

Confirmed.
PDF printer driver shows the correct dimensions in the preview, but selecting a real printer enforces some preset size. For me, using 140x100 changed into Japanese postcard 148x100.

+1. This bug is present in 4.2.7.2 and prevents me printing headed notepaper on a non-standard paper size. Exactly as EliCoten says; 'Format Page' is used to change the document page size, but in the Print Settings dialogue, there is no 'Custom Paper Size' option. The nearest standard size seems to be chosen instead. Custom Paper Size needs to be offered in Print Settings (ideally, the print settings dialogue should pick up the custom size the user has created via 'Format Page').

I have this issue too. I have non-standard (or at least undefined in LO's list) postcards that we are unable to print in LibreOffice without tricking the printer to think that it is a similar size. This can lead to alignment issues and other timing issues, depending on the printer.

My workaround is to export the document as a pdf and use a pdf viewer to print it. I would very much like this bug fixed.

This bug has been around for several years. I've also tried LO 5 in Ubuntu 14.04 and it is still there. I reported this to the LibreOffice developers, but they basically shrugged it off as being an Ubuntu problem, when it clearly appears to be a LO problem.

The only workaround, as other have reported, is to export as PDF and use a PDF viewer.

Is this related to "Use only paper size from printer preferences" checkbox on the File > Print .. Options tab. ??

See bug 61186
and https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/4.1#Other

(Then we could close as duplicate of bug 67576
and note that bug 94343 is about improving the position)

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice
(5.2.5 or 5.3.0 https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and
your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave
a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3)

http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3
. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo";
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add "regression" to keyword
