Bug Description

Binary package hint: banshee

Crashed while playing an AAC file, probably at the same time also updating the library because of newly added files (brought in via rsync from my master PC).

Subsequently, it hangs and crashes on playback of any file, totally unusable.

After upgrade to 0.13.0, I no longer experience crashes, so I'm marking Fix released for the time being. Feel free to reopen if more crashes come up...

David, the actual message "crashed with SIGSEGV" is rather generic; are you trying the same steps Tommaso mentioned in the original report to cause the crash: playing an AAC file while importing new music?

Sorry, shouldn't have been so generic.

Actually I had left it on in my taskbar, was listening to radio when it crashed.

Sounds like a different issue; can you get a crash report and submit a new big via Apport?

Hi David,
Here are some instructions: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Apport. Let me know if
you need help along the way. Also, since you're discussing a crash, see
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash for info on making sure your
backtrace has all the information developers might need.
