Bug Description

after reading some man pages about what i was doing i decided to try running mate-session from a gnome-terminal. Error message "failed to get dbus message" clicked ok. Loads of applets opened, pressed control-c to kill it and then had the task of right-click- close on each applet to tidy my task bar. When it died after the control-c
 --- mate-session[3160]: WARNING: Failed to acquire org.mate.SessionManager mate-session[3160]: Gtk-CRITICAL: IA__gtk_main_quit: assertion `main_loops != NULL failed'

was output

What version of Mint are you running? What was the purpose of what you were trying to do?

that's the issue.  I can't remember what I was trying to work round or learn, but it was the effect of it running many windows, regardless of the error message. I had to use `ps' and `kill' to regain control. it's probably already running and is part of the load of X.  I'm using mint nadia 14.  perhaps a warning on the man page to only run if appropriate may be the fix as I may have had to run it from `sudo bash'.
