Bug Description

The "Low Disk Space" dialog box pops up every five minutes for volumes I don't need monitored. The dialog box contains a check box, "Don't show any warnings again for this file system". Checking this box has no effect, and the dialog pops up again 5 minutes later. I would expect the warning not to pop up again if the box were checked. This problem is very disruptive to work flow. I'm using Linux Mint 16 32 bit Mate edition.

This may be related to the ubuntu bug 881376 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/881376), which has a "fix released", however the package gnome-settings-daemon does not appear to be installed in Mint.

Work-around:

Install & run dconf-editor:

sudo apt-get install dconf-editor
dconf-editor

Edit the values for keys in org.mate.SettingsDaemon.plugins.housekeeping. Note that "ignore-paths" doesn't seem to work, but the other keys in this schema can be used to de-activate or tweak the dialog so that it doesn't pop up any more.

I guess the patch from that Ubuntu bug needs to be merged with MATE (and Cinnamon, if you read the very last post on that bug report)
