Bug Description

I am testing Gusty Gibbon Tribe 3. I find that the automount to removable device doesn't work after I upgrade my kernel after I follow the prompt of Update Notifier. No matter I plug a removable hard drive or insert a CD, nothing happens.

I've also lost automount for USB memory keys, using Tribe 5 on a Thinkpad T61.

I'm not sure if his followed kernel upgrade, but there was one a couple of days ago, so it certainly might be.

I suggest that this is a pretty serious issue if its widespread.

Same problem for me. Gutsy Gibbon TRibe 5 installed today on my Acer Aspire 1642z. The automount for USB pendrives don't work.

Fixing the problem:

Editing fstab and removing these lines:

#/dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0 0
#/dev/sdb1 /media/sdb1 vfat defaults 0 0
#/dev/sdc1 /media/sdc1 vfat defaults 0 0

Now Pendrives and cdroms works fine again!

I've fixed the problem in the same badhorse's way. I've an ASUS G1S.

Under KDE, just found the following solution.

When you plug in a USB device, an icon for it should appear on your desktop.
Click on it and the device will be mounted and also listed in /media.
For automatic mounting, right-click on the icon,
select Properties -> Mounting -> "Mount automatically"
You may also adapt the name of the Mountpoint.
