marconi does not start up against mongo DB backend in gate

Marconi fails to start up with mongo DB back end in gate.
Adding a sleep helps to work around the issue.
So it is likely that mongo DB is not becoming available immediately

Let's revisit this for Juno. We just need one production-ready backend that we can gate on. It probably won't be mongo because the gate only supports a pre-TTL version of MongoDB.

Let's also explore an out-of-band/3rd-party CI setup that can test mongodb and do benchmarks, etc. that are out of scope for the OS gate.

I checked in #openstack-infra regarding what our options are.
out-of-band/3rd-party CI setup is used for tests that require real hardware & does not meet our use case. So that was ruled out as an option. But infra team is planning to add Ubuntu Trusty to the gate "probably a few weeks after it's released, depending on when either our providers get an image in place or whether we can use glance to upload our own (jeblair)" .

So we'll have to wait for Trusty support at the gate.

We will need to somehow get our jobs running on trusty, or at least one of them (say, py27), and on that one set MARCONI_TEST_MONGODB=1

is a fast moving project and we'd like to get the tracker down to
currently actionable bugs, this is getting marked as Invalid. If the
